  • CCTV City.

    In september 2003, the company took over the development and maintenance of this site for UK Surveillance Ltd. Written in PHP4, CSS and backed by a MySQL database, there's also a shopping area powered by osCommerce. We've been sorting out the PHP, enhancing a number of site facilities and adding new products and packages to the e-commerce area.

Below are examples of sites that the director of this company has worked on during his employment with Actis Limited. (December 2000 to July 2003.) All images below used with permission of Actis Limited and are copyright to their respective copyright holders.

  • The E2BN Weather Station project. This site was quickly built using the Actis ASP CMS. I then added school registration and weather data entry facilities and an administration system for these. Finally, a facility for producing tailored reports on the weather data either on-screen or in CSV format for transferring into a spreadsheet. (CSS, ASP (VBSCRIPT) and MySQL.)

  • Flood Alert - Primary and Secondary. (ASP (VBSCRIPT) and MyODBC/MySQL. Also some advanced Javascript.) The site had 13 areas which required the insertion of dynamic content and admin pages for each of them. The site was installed on around 7 servers. (A mixture of Windows 2000 and Linux.) Upload and emailing facilities included using ASPSmartUpload and ASPSmartMail on Windows servers. (Perl and Sendmail was used on Linux servers.)

Secondary Flood Alert required some advanced Javascript programming for the Environment Agency flood simulation. This delivered an intelligent message stream of text, images and graphs in multiple child windows at pre-determined time intervals.
