  • E2BN Teaching & Learning Area. (PHP and MySQL.)

    This section of the E2BN portal was converted to a simple PHP / MySQL-driven CMS so that it could be updated by E2BN staff easily.

  • E2BN Educational Tools web site. (Flash, PHP and MySQL.)

    This site contains demos of all the educational tools we've created for E2BN over the last 2 years or so and was developed using Mambo 4.5.2 with a customised template as usual.

    Tools include things like the Google Maps Mambo component, Flash image slideshows, audio and video streaming tools, multimedia story tellers and presentation applications. Also pages for the glossary system and the timeline display script.

  • E2Bn Weather Station web site. (PHP and MySQL.)

    Originally a low featured CMS written in ASP, it was converted to a modern PHP-driven site using Mambo 4.5.2.

    Several special ASP scripts were converted to PHP and the Mambo registration component was customised appropriately. The Google Maps Mambo component was also incorporated into the site.

  • Multimedia Story Teller originally developed for the E2BN Myths and Legends web site. (Flash MX 2004, PHP scripts, XML data files and a MySQL database.)

    This application and a PHP-driven Wizard page allowed E2BN to build enhanced story presentations with synchronised audio, text and images.

  • ICT in the Foundation Stage web site for E2BN / Cambs. ICT Service.

    The latest version (4.5.2) of the Mambo CMS was used for this project. We created the site structure and populated the site based on a large amount of documents provided by the client. A number of videos were also put on the site with Flash (FLV) versions for streaming to a simple Flash video viewer to allow them to be viewed without having to be downloaded.

    Extra help information was added to parts of the admin system to aid the client in using it.

  • Journal of Innovative Teaching web site. Mambo-based web site for PRACSIS sprl. (A Belgian company.)

    Set up the structure and populated the web site. Also customised several of the Mambo components for the site, such as the registration, forum and contact components. Also modified the template and style sheet so that they worked and displayed properly in Internet Explorer.

  • HMS Victory Story Teller. Special version of the Story Assistant developed for Becta.

    A fruit machine type application to aid people in getting ideas for writing stories. Intended for schools or similar environments, although anyone could use it. (Flash MX 2004.)

  • Radio E2BN web site. This formerly ASP web site was completely reveveloped in March 2005 using Mambo as the content management system. This provided many more facilities and much more versatility to the core web site.

    Next, several media players were developed in Flash MX 2004 Pro to interface with a MySQL database via PHP scripts and play audio and video resources, (in the background and foreground), which had been approved by site administrators.

    Several RSS feeds were also incorporated, as well as resource upload and conversion facilities.

  • Interactive Maths Assistant.This Flash fruit-machine application allows helps people with division, multiplication and addition and subtraction of numbers with up to three decimal places. The difficulty and type of sums displayed can be restricted by a level parameter which corresponds the the basic skills levels. (E1, E2, E3, 1 and 2.) (Flash MX 2004.)

    There's no server requirement for this so it could easily run off CD or similar. There is scope to integrate it with a database to expand it's capabilities and applications.

  • Interactive Music Loop Creator for the Symbios Group Stayaround.com web site. (Flash MX 2004, PHP and Ming.) Music Loop Creator

    Allows the user to precisely select a portion of a previously selected song. The selection is then passed to a script on the server. The song is streamed direct to the Flash application by a PHP/Ming script for security.

  • Interactive Movie Viewer to complement the interactive Movie Creator we developed originally for the E2BN Myths and Legends web site. (Flash MX 2004, Perl and XML data files.)

    Has facilities to play the movie frames at varying speeds and also to print out either the whole movie or just selected frames.

  • E2BN News System. (PHP and MySQL database.)

    Content Management System for news items on the E2BN portal. Also has admin page for the creation, approval, archiving and deletion of news items.
